August 29, HW#2, Job Application Packet accessibility, usability, and relevance.

First in order to develop a successful Job Application Packet you need to understand as much as possible about the position that you are applying for. You also need to do a little research about the company reviewing your packet so you can get a better understanding of your audience.

In order for your job application packet to be accessible it should be easy for the employer to read. You should make sure that there is no mistakes or errors and it should be presented as a hard copy. Be clear of the position that you are applying for. Your cover letter gives you the opportunity to explain some of your strengths, interest in the position, and why they should consider you for the job. The cover letter gives you a chance to explain yourself more then a resume. When using examples in your resume make sure that the information given is correct. When your audience is reviewing cover letter and resume it should be in a language that can be undestood.
Usability: Your resume and cover letter should be attractive to look at. It must also be usable. For example, the heading of a resume should clearly list your name and contact information. Page layout should be uniform and clear, so that your education and job experiences are easy to follow. The easier your information is to retrieve the easier it is for your auidience to understand and apply to their purpuse. Usability and relevance are very simular, to me I think they work alot together. You don't want to list unimportant information that will loss the interest of the reader. They may have a good number of applications to review so keep your information to the point.
